Pasta Bar Fundraiser February 11, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The new Cedar-Mt. Auburn Community Club is hosting a pasta and salad bar fundraiser. The club is working on obtaining the Legion building by creating a non-profit organization (501(3)c). We want to continue the community events, such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Annual Town, Celebration, Christmas Celebration, and possibly more! These fundraisers will help support the overhead costs of thebuilding and provide a venue to fellowship with your friends and neighbors.

Shellsburg Lions Bingo Nights January 14 & 28

The Shellsburg Lions will hold Bingo at the Legion on Jan 14 and 28. The Legion will provide food. The Blackout is guaranteed to be $50. Come have some fun, win a bingo and celebrate other activities. For questions call 319-389-2682.

Izaak Walton to hold Red Ryder BB Gun Shoot February 18

The Izaak Walton is inviting the public to come out for a Red Ryder BB gun shoot. On February 18, 2023, from 10 am to 3 pm. Kids and adults are welcome to bring their own Red Ryder style bb guns and receive shooting instruction from a certified firearms instructor inside our clubhouse.You will need to have safety glasses to shoot. We will also have BB guns on hand and Eyeware if someone is without them.

Toddler Time: Cuddly Critters February 3

Toddler Time: Cuddly Critters will be held on February 3, from 10-11:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Benton County Nature Center located at 5718 20th Ave. Dr., Vinton. Join us for Cuddle Critters where we will learn about some of Iowa's cutest critters. The program will include a book and puppets. Toddler time is suitable for kids under the age of 5.

Vinton American Legion 57 to hold Tenderloin Dinner Friday, January 13

The Vinton American Legion will hold a tenderloin dinner on FRIDAY, JANUARY 13, 2023 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.Cost for the Tenderloin Dinner is $15.00 and includes: tenderloin, french fries, cole slaw and a dessert. The legion is located at 105 N. R Ave. in Vinton. 

Building Better Birders Workshop

Benton County Conservation will be offering a workshop about birds. The class will be held on January 20, 2023 at the Beneton County Nature Center located at 5718 20th Ave. Dr., Vinton. The class begins at 9:00 a.m. and will run until 3:00 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Mom’s Unite - Single Mom’s Fellowship Group - 1st Meeting January 5
